Educator Speaker & Video Series

Compass Community Chats

Date: 2021-2022

Learning Format: virtual speaker & discussion series

Summary: To help educators worldwide stay connected in their systems thinking and sustainability practices during the global COVID-19 pandemic, I produced, edited, and facilitated a series of 1-hour public meetups hosted by Compass Education Facilitators on topics that mattered to them, exploring how systems thinking supports quality education.

Project Overview

To illustrate a range of ways systems thinking tools can support key concepts and practices in education, whilst also promoting sustainability mindsets. In addition, to create a space for community, connection, and learning amidst an isolating global pandemic.

The Goal

A ten-part video series on YouTube of ‘Compass Community Chats’ exploring how Compass Education facilitators are using systems thinking tools to support different topics within education, including student leadership, school leadership, community partnerships, social-emotional learning, and more. These were hosted over the course of one year.

The Learning Experience

  • 10 videos in the series

  • approximately 85 educators engaged in live calls

  • Over 1,500 video views on the Compass Education YouTube channel (2025).
