The S.U.S.T.A.I.N. Model

A framework for learning design that creates systems change

Creating a powerful learning experience takes intention, reflection, and innovation. The S.U.S.T.A.I.N. Model is a learning design framework that helps you create learning that naturally aligns with your organizational goals and enhances your impact. It draws inspiration from systems thinking and the principles of feedback found in nature, guiding you through every stage of the design process with purpose.

The gap between knowing about a problem and having the tools to address it is where most education programs get stuck. The S.U.S.T.A.I.N. Model is designed to close that gap.

The 7 S.U.S.T.A.I.N.Stages

The S.U.S.T.A.I.N. Model is an iterative cycle, rooted in the same principles of feedback and renewal found in nature. New projects move through all seven stages in sequence, starting at Stage S. Existing programs can re-enter at any point to deepen the work, respond to new learning, or build on what is already going well.
