Hi, I’m Gitanjali!

I'm a learning designer, educator, and facilitator working at the intersection of systems thinking, sustainability education, and social change.

I founded Gitanjali Learning Design 6 years ago, drawing on 15+ years of experience across formal and nonformal education to help mission-driven organizations design learning that moves people from awareness to action.

If you’re working to make a positive impact on people and the planet, let’s collaborate!

Educator by Calling

Education is in my blood. As the child of two international school teachers, I've always known that education has the power to change the way we see the world and our capacity to shape it. That belief is what drives me to design learning that goes beyond knowledge transfer and toward genuine agency and systems change.

Teacher by Training

I'm a social studies teacher by training with a B.A. in Peace and Justice Studies, a PGCE in secondary education, and an M.Ed. in International Education. Having worked across K-12, nonformal, and higher education, I've come to deeply appreciate how important it is to design learning for the specific people and purposes in front of you.

Global Citizen

I consider myself a global citizen with transcontinental roots and community. I have previously lived in New England in the United States, South India, Ghana, and the Philippines. Today, I'm based in the U.S. Living in various cultures and communities has taught me the importance of considering context and challenging assumptions in the learning process.

Life Long Learner

I think curiosity is one of the most important qualities a learning designer can bring to their work, and I try to model it in everything I do I learn continually from nature, cooking experiments, podcasts, adventures with family, and my Filipina rescue cat, Mahatma Charlie. In my spare time, I’m an avid baker and enjoy nature drawing.

I’m focused on Making a Positive Impact in Education

15+ years. 400,000+ educators. 1M+ students. 130+ countries.
