About Me

Hi, my name is Gitanjali. I’m a teacher by training, an educator by calling, and an indefatigably inquisitive human being by birth.

Educator by Calling

Education is in my blood. As the child of two international school teachers, I’ve always known that education has the power to change the way we view the world and our capacity to shape it. That’s why I work to make it as accessible and impactful as possible through working with diverse formal and nonformal educational organizations.

Teacher by Training

I’m a social studies teacher by training with a B.A. in Peace and Justice Studies and a PGCE in secondary education. Before founding Gitanjali Learning Design LLC, I taught high school social studies. I volunteered with education nonprofits, which inspired me to explore community and higher education while pursuing my M.Ed. in Education Policy, Research, and Administration, with a focus on International Education.

Global Citizen

I consider myself a global citizen with transcontinental roots and community. I have previously lived in New England in the United States, South India, Ghana, and the Philippines. Today, I’m based in College Station, TX, in the U.S.. I’ve had the incredible privilege of learning and growing through travel. Living in various cultures and communities has taught me the importance of considering context and challenging assumptions in the learning process.

Life Long Learner

I am an avid learner. I learn continually from nature, cooking experiments, podcasts, adventures with family, and my Filipina rescue cat, Mahatma Charlie. In my spare time, I’m an avid baker and enjoy nature drawing.
